Catastrophic Personal Injury/Commercial Vehicle Accident, 2004, 2005: Client was injured when his vehicle was T-boned by a commercial delivery truck at an intersection in uptown Charlotte. At the time of the incident, client was on the way to a business appointment. Business Litigation/Products Liability/Unfair Trade Practices, 1997: Client manufactured “cherry picker” trucks, used to lift personnel up to 50 feet to trim trees; defendant multi-national corporation sold to client allegedly engineered, custom-designed hydraulic cylinders for use on trucks; defendant in actuality sold client non-engineered, defective cylinders, and engaged in deceptive practices and cover-up; 3 cylinders failed while in use by client’s customers, which failures destroyed client’s business.
Result: $12.53 million
Will Contest (Caveat case): Represented propounders (offerors) of last will and testament; the two attesting witnesses to the will both testified at trial (falsely) that they did not see the testator sign the will (subscribing witnesses’ seeing a testator actually signing the will is a legal requirement for a valid attested will in North Carolina).
Result: Will upheld
Will Contest (Caveat case): Represented propounders (offerors) of last will and testament; testator’s treating physician (internist) testified at trial that in his opinion testator was not of sound mind to make a will.

Will Contest (Caveat case): Represented propounders (offerors) of several unrelated, unsigned and undated handwritten pieces of paper offered as will in $5 Million estate.
Result: Will upheld
Products Liability, 1999: Defended client manufacturer of commercial wood chippers; plaintiff lost arm while operating a chipper manufactured by client.
Result: Settled for $50,000, payable over time
Business Litigation/ Unfair Trade Practices, 2000-2003: Defended client staffing company against various allegations of interference with contractual relations, unfair business practices and misappropriation of trade secrets in several separate suits filed over the course of several years.
